Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Rajinikanth and Nandamuri Balakrishna were among the bigwigs who attended the swearing-in ceremony of TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu 12 June.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was sworn in for his fourth term on 12 June. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by celebrities including Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth.

Fans attempted to take selfies with them as they entered the venue.

Pawan Kalyan, who secured 21 seats for his Janasena Party (JSP) for the first time in his political career, respectfully touched his brother Chiranjeevi’s feet and embraced him before taking oath as a minister.

Chandrababu posted on X (formerly Twitter), sharing photos where he is seen warmly hugging Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and Rajinikanth. He expressed gratitude to them for gracing the ceremony with their presence.

The alliance of BJP, TDP, and Jana Sena achieved a landslide victory in the Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh elections. They secured 164 seats out of the total 175 in the Assembly and 21 out of Andhra’s 25 Lok Sabha seats.

MLA of Hindupur, Nandamuri Balakrishna, along with Surekha, wife of Chiranjeevi, and his brother Nagababu, Niharika, Akira Nandan, Aadya, and other members of the Konidela family were present at the ceremony. Also in attendance were actor Nikhil Siddhartha, and directors Krish and Meher Ramesh.

The TDP emerged as a significant ally whose support was essential for the BJP to establish a coalition government at the centre, given that it did not reach the majority mark of 272 seats.

In the Modi 3.0 cabinet, the TDP secured both a cabinet position and a Minister of state role.

A star-studded affair

PM Modi’s cabinet colleagues including Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, and JP Nadda, were present, along with alliance partners like Eknath Shinde from Shiv Sena and Chirag Paswan from the Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present at the swearing-in ceremony. As he approached the stage, he held Pawan’s hand and guided him towards Chiranjeevi.

Afterward, he raised both their hands in a gesture of triumph and embraced both brothers on stage.

Niharika Konidela shared the video on social media, captioning it with “Moments like these,” accompanied by two heart emojis.

Rajinikanth, who has TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan in the pipeline, along with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, will begin filming the latter, starting 1 July.

Official reports initially indicated that filming would commence on 10 June. However, a delay in pre-production has necessitated a rescheduling of the start date.

Coolie is being financed by Sun Pictures. Currently, music composer Anirudh Ravichander and stunt director-duo Anbariv are confirmed to be involved in the Rajinikanth-starrer.
