Netflix bags the OTT rights of 'Amaran'. (X)
Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan’s forthcoming flick Amaran is making headlines. Even before its theatrical release, the digital rights for the film have been sold to the OTT giant Netflix.
As per reports, Netflix bought the OTT rights of Amaran for a fancy price.
A biographical drama, Amaran is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International is bankrolling this ambitious project.
Sai Pallavi is the leading lady in the film. It also features Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Lallu, and Ajaey Naga.
The music is composed by GV Prakash.
On 17 February, marking Sivakarthikeyan’s birthday, the makers dropped an intense teaser of Amaran, after which the expectations of filmgoers reached sky-high.
In the teaser, the actor appears as an Indian Army Rashtriya Rifles officer. The film promises an adrenaline rush to the audience through high-octane action sequences.

The Tamil movie is expected to be released on 15 August. An official confirmation is awaited from the makers.
Sivakarthikeyan signed a project with AR Murugadoss. Tentatively titled SK23, the pre-production work of the flick is underway. It will start rolling soon.
The actor recently delivered a hit with Ayalaan, a sci-fi adventure, which became the second highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024 after Dhanush’s Captain Miller. Ayalaan earned around ₹75 crore at the global box office.
