Ravi Teja, who played the titular role in Eagle (2024), is set to star in Mr Bachchan. The makers unveiled a teaser showreel of the movie on 17 June.

The video features carefully edited clips from the Ravi Teja-led film, providing a glimpse into its visual style. It hints at a perfect blend of intense drama and the mass appeal characteristic of Ravi Teja’s films.

Touted to be an action-drama set in the backdrop of the 1970s, the showreel concludes with a scene featuring an Amitabh Bachchan poster in the background, overlooking Ravi Teja, who exudes a comparable level of charisma.

Mr Bachchan is reportedly the official remake of the Hindi blockbuster Raid (2018), which starred Ajay Devgn in the lead role. In this Telugu adaptation, Ravi Teja takes on the role of a government officer, originally played by the Bollywood actor.

Harish Shankar has made significant modifications to the original storyline to better cater to the Telugu audience, adding new twists and turns.

In just a few minutes of footage, we see a distressed Jagapathi Babu seemingly plotting his villainous schemes against the protagonist.

Bhagyashri Borse, known for Yaariyan 2 (2023) and Chandu Champion (2024) will be making her acting debut as the female lead in Mr Bachchan, which has the tagline, “Naam Tho Suna Hoga”.

Directed by Harish Shankar and bankrolled by Panorama Studios, People Media Factory banner, and T Series, Mr Bachchan is Ravi Teja’s third collaboration with the filmmaker, following Shock (2006) and Mirpakay (2011).

The first look of Mr Bachchan, released last year, featured Ravi Teja riding a scooter, sporting shades and a haircut reminiscent of Bachchan’s 1970s films. The background of the poster showcases a silhouette of the iconic actor’s face with a crowd standing in front of a cinema hall named ‘Natraj’.

The technical crew of Mr Bachchan features notable talents such as Ayananka Bose for cinematography and Mickey J Meyer of Mahanati (2018)-fame, as the music director.

The film’s editing is handled by Ujwal Kulkarni, with production design by Brahma Kadali.

Screenplay writing credits go to Ramesh Reddy, Sathish Vegesna, Praveen Varma, Dattatreya, and Tanvi Kesari. Action choreography is led by Ram Laxman and Pruthvi.
