Actor Vijay, popularly known as Thalapathy among film buffs, enjoys a huge fanbase in South India and abroad. His most awaited movie Leo is all set to release on 19 October.

Every update about the film is greeted by Vijay’s fans with great enthusiasm.

Recently, the Tamil actor made his social media debut on Instagram. He shared a picture from the sets of Leo which garnered a tremendous response in the form of likes, follows, and comments. This also made him the fastest Indian to reach 9 million followers on Instagram.

Expectations are running high for Leo as director Lokesh Kanagaraj is at the peak of his career with the success of Vikram (2022).

The makers released the Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil posters of Leo recently which caught the fancy of film lovers.

#KeralaBoycottLeo Vs #കേരളWelcomesLeoROAR

However, much to the surprise of one and all, the #KeralaBoycottLEO hashtag is trending on X . This was started by the fans of Mohanlal after the Malayalam superstar was targeted by Vijay fans for no reason.

After the news became viral, social media was flooded with posts and memes by Mohanlal fans who were expressing their disappointment.

Now, what’s more interesting is that there was no provocation for Vijay fans on this issue. In fact, Mohanlal and Vijay earlier worked together in 2018 for Jilla which was a commercial success.

As a reply to #KeralaBoycottLEO, a new hashtag appeared on social media welcoming Leo. The #കേരളWelcomesLeoROAR (#KeralaWelcomesLeoRoar) hashtag was started by Vijay’s fans in Kerala to retaliate against Mohanlal’s fans.
