Vaazha II launched

A sequel to the 2024 Malayalam hit Vazha, titled Vazha II has been launched recently. The makers officially announced the film on Tuesday, 8 April, with a puja. While the 2024 film was directed by Anand Menen, the sequel is set to be directed by debutant Savin SA.

Vipin Das has scripted both the parts. He previously helmed the super hit films Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey (2022) and Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil (2024).

While Hashir, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, and Vinayak, who were part of the first part have been retained, others like Ameen, Nihal Nizam, Nibraz Noushad, Shahubas, and Sabir S have been added to the cast.

Apart from these young talents, senior actors Sudheesh, Vijay Babu, and filmmaker Alphonse Puthren are also said to be part of the cast.

According to reports, Vaazha II is produced by Vipin Das, Harris Desom, PB Anish, Adarsh Narayan, and Icon Studios. The film has cinematography by Akhil Lailasuran, music by Ankit Menon, and editing by Kannan.

The photos of the puja have been shared widely on social media platforms.

Vaazha was directed by Anand Menen, who debuted in the Malayalam industry with Gauthamante Radham (2020).

The performances of these actors became one of the highlights of the film, which explored the relationship between parents and boys.

Vaazha revolves around a group of schoolboys who grow up together. It is a wholesome entertainer that addresses toxic parenting. The comedy, emotions, and many scenes worked out well in the theatres, especially for viewers in their 30s and 40s.

Released on 15 August 2024, Vaazha swept the box office with extra shows charted at several theatres in Kerala.
