Malayalam actor-director Vineeth Sreenivasan’s next, Oru Jaathi Jathakam, is gearing up for release on 22 August.
On Tuesday, 16 July, Vineeth took to social media to announce the release date of Oru Jaathi Jathakam and also shared a new poster.
The film is directed by M Mohanan, who earlier helmed Aravindante Athidhikal (2018), which starred Vineeth and his father Sreenivasan in the lead roles. Mohanan also delivered many hits like Katha Parayumpol (2007), Manikyakallu (2011), and 916 (2012), to mention a few.
Maha Subair is bankrolling Oru Jaathi Jathakam under his banner Varnachithra Films. Maha Subair backed several successful films like Meesa Madhavan (2002) and Manasinakkare (2003).
The film also features Nikhila Vimal, Sayanora Philip, Aju Varghese, and Isha Talwar in major roles. Vineeth is teaming up again with Nikhila Vimal for this film after Aravindante Athidhigal.
On the technical front, Vishwajith Oukathil handles the cinematography and Guna Balasubramanyam composes the music for Oru Jaathi Jathakam, billed to be a comedy entertainer.
Rakesh Mantodi, who penned the critically acclaimed commercial hit films Thira (2013) and Godha (2017), wrote the script.
In February this year, Vineeth Sreenivasan unveiled the first-look poster of Oru Jaathi Jathakam. In the poster, he sported a blue suit and was surrounded by women. The poster hinted at a wedding party. Meanwhile, the teaser introduced Vineeth’s character as a person whose presence causes issues.
Meanwhile, Vineeth Sreenivasan will be donning the role of a director once again for an action flick. However, more details about the project are not yet confirmed.
His previous directorial, Varshangalkku Shesham, was a super hit. But it was trolled and criticised after its OTT debut. His actor-brother Dhyan Sreenivasan’s comments made in the context went viral on social media. Interestingly, Dhyan was one of the lead actors in the film.
