The overwhelming success of the film prompted the makers to come up with a sequel. On Wednesday, 21 August, director Vipin Das, who produced Vaazha, took to Instagram to announce the launch of Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros.
Interestingly, the sequel will be helmed by debutant director Suvin SA. It will backed by Vipin Das, Harris Desom, PB Anish, Adarsh Narayan, and Icon Cinemas.
Akhil Lailasuran will handle the cinematography. The sequel will cast Hashir, Alan, Ajin, and Vinayak.
Vipin Das, who wrote the script for the first part, penned Vaazha 2 as well. He helmed the super hit films Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey (2022) and Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil (2024).
Announcing the sequel, thanked the audience for extending their immense support to Vaazha. He said their response inspired him to move forward with fresh talents again.
Vaazha was directed by Anand Menen, who debuted in the Malayalam industry with Gauthamante Radham (2020).
The movie starred Jeomon Jyothir, Saaf Boi, Hashiree, Anuraj, and Amith Mohan Rajeswari in the main roles. Kottayam Nazeer, Siju Sunny, Noby Marcose, Basil Joseph, and Azees Nedumangad played crucial roles in it.
The performances of these actors became one of the highlights of the film, which explored the relationship between parents and boys.
Vaazha revolves around a group of schoolboys who grow up together. It is a wholesome entertainer that addresses toxic parenting. The comedy, emotions, and many scenes worked out well in the theatres, especially for viewers in their 30s and 40s.
