Unni Mukundan’s ‘Marco’ to release on 20 December

The film team shared that the first audio release of 'Marco' will take place on 22 November.

Unni Mukundan’s next venture, action thriller Marco, has a release date. The film will hit the big screens on 20 December, targeting the Christmas season.

The upcoming film is touted to be an action-packed thriller and the most violent film ever made in Malayalam.

Marco, a spin-off of Mikhael (2019), both directed by Haneef Adeni, once again features Unni Mukundan as an antagonist, as he did alongside Nivin Pauly in the original film.

The film team shared the update on social media and released a press note. The note also mentioned that the first audio release of Marco will take place on 22 November.

The note read, “We would also like to thank our associates who have joined the journey, including Phars Film, WAM India, and Sony Music, for their invaluable support. We are excited to announce that the first audio release of Marco will take place on November 22, 2024, offering fans a first glimpse into the music and themes that shape this story.”

‘Action-packed entertainer’

Touting the film as an “action-packed unforgettable cinematic experience”, the note praised Unni Mukundan and Haneed Adeni.

It further read: “On behalf of the entire Cubes Entertainments and UMF team, we would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all crew members, cast, and supporters for their unwavering dedication to our much-anticipated film, Marco. The response to the teaser has been fantastic across all languages, and your tireless commitment has been instrumental in bringing this ambitious project to life.”

“Additionally, we are working to bring Marco to theatres on December 20, 2024, just in time for Christmas. Please, keep the knives ready-the cake has to be cut on time!”

The ensemble cast of Marco includes Kabir Duhan Singh, Anson Paul, Arjun Nandakumar, Durva Thaker, Yukti Tareja, Abhimanyu Shammy Thilakan, Ishan Shoukath, Siddique, Jagadish and Riyaz Khan, among others.

Chandru Selvaraj handles the cinematography for Marco, with Shameer Muhammed as the editor. KGF-fame Ravi Basrur composes the music. The film will be dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

Marco is produced by Shareef Muhammed and Abdul Gadhaf of Cubes Entertainments, in collaboration with Unni Mukundan Films, the lead actor’s home production company.
