Ullozhukku to be screened in Los Angeles

Urvashi and Parvathy Thiruvothu-starrer Ullozhukku is all set to have a grand premiere at the ongoing Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA). It will be screened at the prestigious Sunset Boulevard Theatre in Los Angeles on 29 June.

Director Christo Tomy and Parvathy are already in Los Angeles to participate in the screening. IFFLA is one of the most prestigious Indian film festivals held abroad.

The special premiere in Los Angeles is expected to help Ullozhukku get much-deserved attention at other international film festivals.

The Malayalam film, released last week, won rave reviews from critics and evoked a warm response from audiences. It is enjoying a fabulous run across India and will be released worldwide on 28 July.

Ullozhukku is the debut feature film of the director Christo Tomy, best known for his internationally acclaimed 2023 Netflix documentary Curry & Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case.

The movie also features Alencier, Arjun Radhakrishnan, Prasanth Murali, Jaya Kurup, and Veenah Nair in key roles. Its story was set in a flooded Kuttanad in Alappuzha.

It featured Parvathy as the protagonist (Anju) and Urvashi as her mother-in-law (Leelamma). Urvashi and Parvathy’s unique combo in the film left the audience in awe.

Sushin Shyam composed the music for Ullozhukku. The intense drama was elevated by his brilliant background score.

Amazed by the film’s success, Parvathy Thiruvothu recently took to social media to share the behind-the-scenes (BTS) photos from the sets of Ullozhukku. The photos featured her co-stars Urvashi and Arjun Radhakrishnan and director Christo Tomy.

Meanwhile, in an interview with South First, Christo Tomy said he believed Parvathy was perfect for Anju’s role and was in constant touch with her since the beginning.

Ullozhukku was produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Honey Trehan, and Abhishek Chaubey under the banners of RSVP & MacGuffin Pictures, in collaboration with Sanjeev Kumar Nair of Reverie Entertainment.
