Tovino Thomas starrer ‘Identity’ to release on 2 January

Tovino is collaborating with the duo Akhil Paul and Anas Khan once again, after the 2020 film 'Forensic'.

Tovino Thomas’s next film Identity has locked its release date. The film directed by dual directors Akhil Paul and Anas Khan is set to release on 2 January 2025.

The makers also released a 2-minute-and-40-second trailer along with the release date. The teaser touts the film to be a thrilling, high-octane mystery filled with daring stunts.

Tovino is collaborating with the duo Akhil Paul and Anas Khan once again, after the 2020 film Forensic.

The movie also stars Trisha Krishnan in the lead role opposite Tovino. Identity also stars Mandira Bedi, Shammi Thilakan, Aju Varghese, Arjun Radhakrishnan, Archana Kavi, Gopika Ramesh, Aneesh Gopal, Giju John, and Dhruvan.

Identity is produced by Raju Malliath and Dr Roy CJ under their production companies Ragam Films and Confident Group respectively. The music of the movie is done by Jakes Bejoy and the cinematography by Akhil George.

‘A special film’

Speaking at the teaser launch in early December, Tovino Thomas shared that this movie is special to him, and mentioned that the journey was long, with over 130 days of shooting. He added that the shoot was hectic, but there was ample room for creativity.

Tovino praised the art department for their exceptional work on the sets, as well as the costume department for creating unique looks for each character.

He also acknowledged the hard work of dual directors Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, assuring the movie’s high quality. Writer Akhil Paul started working on the script in 2020, completing it in 2022.

Tovino was most recently seen in debutant Jithin Laal’s Ajayante Randaam Moshanam (ARM). His upcoming projects include Prithviraj Sukumaran’s L2: Empuraan, Anuraj Manohar’s Narivetta, debutant Shilpa Alexander’s Avaran, and Saiju Sreedharan’s Munpe.

Additionally, Tovino is producing Marana Mass, which stars Basil Joseph in the lead role.
