Telugu actor Sunil joins Antony Varghese’s ‘Kattalan’

Aiming for a pan- India reach, 'Kattalan' is slated for release in five languages—Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

Telugu actor Sunil is debuting in Malayalam with the film Kattalan. The film being produced by Marco producers, Cubes Entertainment, stars Antony Varghese in the lead role.

Directed by debutant Paul George, the film is roping in big names from across industries.

Sharing the news about Sunil’s onboarding, the production house wrote on X: “Welcoming the Maestro of Versatality SUNIL to the world of ‘KATTALAN’. One of the most celebrated versatile actor in Indian cinema, Known for his key roles in major films like PUSHPA 1(2021), PUSHPA 2 (2024), JAILER(2023), GOOD BAD UGLY(2024), SITA RAMAM(2022), MAGADHEERA(2009)”

“From comic brilliance to intense villains, Sunil continues to evolve as a dynamic force in Indian cinema,” the post further read.

Aiming for a pan- India reach, the film is slated for release in five languages—Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

Apart from Sunil, the film also has Marco antagonist Kabir Duhan Singh, and senior actors Jagdish and Siddique.

On the technical front, blockbuster film Kantara’s music director B Ajaneesh Loknath is set to score the music for Kattalan. 

Cinematography is being handled by Renadive, while Shameer Muhammed is the editor, MR Rajakrishnan handling sound design.

In early May, the makers released a poster showing a man and a elephant in a fight, with the caption: “The Hunt is for Ivory | The War is for Power.”

Meanwhile, the lead actor Antony Varghese Pepe recently joined hands with  RDX director Nahas Hidayath for his upcoming film I’m Game. 

His other film RDX, had received good reviews, and had performed well at the box office too. Directed by Nahas Hidhayath, RDX, starring Shane Nigam, and Neeraj Madhav alongside Antony Varghese, in lead roles, is an action film scripted by Adarsh Sukumaran and Shabas Rasheed.
