Suraj Venjaramoodu and Sharaf U Dheen’s ‘Padakkalam’ shooting begins

The film reportedly revolves around a college, where about 4,000 students study. It marks the debut directorial of Manu Swaraj.

The shooting of Padakkalam, featuring Suraj Venjaramoodu and Sharaf U Dheen in the lead roles, commenced with a pooja ceremony in Kochi on Friday, 12 July.

Padakkalam reportedly revolves around a college, where about 4,000 students study. It marks the debut directorial of Manu Swaraj.

The film is written by Manu and Nithin C Babu. The movie also stars Falimy (2023)-fame Sandeep Pradeep, Niranjana Anoop, Saafboi, Arun Pradeep, Arun Ajikumar, Ishan Shoukath, and Pooja Mohanraj in main roles.

The cinematography will be handled by Anu Moothedath and the editing by Nidhin Raj Arol. The music will be composed by Rajesh Murugesan, best known for Neram (2013) and Premam (2015).

It is produced by Vijay Babu, Karthik, Yogi G Raj, and Vijay Subramaniam under the banners of Friday Film House and KRG Studios. This is the 22nd production venture of Friday Film House. Manu Swaraj is the 16th filmmaker that the banner is introducing.

The entire cast and crew of Padakkalam attended the pooja ceremony and took part in the shooting.

Suraj Venjaramoodu recently completed the shooting of Aamir Pallikkal’s ED-Extra Decent, which he is bankrolling.

The actor will next be seen in debutant Nahas Nazar’s Adios Amigo, which also features Asif Ali. The movie is slated for release on 15 August.

Suraj is also part of Prem Shankar’s Thekku Vadakku, headlined by Vinayakan. A new teaser of the movie was released recently. The actor will also be seen in Nissam Basheer’s upcoming film.

Further, his debut web series, Nithin Renji Panicker’s Nagendran’s Honeymoons, will be available from 19 July on Disney+ Hotstar.

Suraj is playing a key role in Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, which will mark his Tamil debut. The movie is directed by SU Arun Kumar of Chithha (2023) fame.

On the other hand, Sharaf U Dheen was last seen in George Kora’s Tholvi FC. He will be next seen in Level Cross alongside Asif Ali, under the direction of Arfaz Ayub. It will hit the screens on 26 July.

Sharaf is also part of Amal Neerad’s Bougainvillea, where Kunchako Boban and Fahadh Faasil will play the lead roles.

The actor is donning the hat of a producer for Praneesh Vijayan’s Pet Detective with Premam co-actor Anupama Pararmeswaran. This apart, he has Hello Mummy with Aishwarya Lekshmi.
