The shooting of Nivin Pauly’s next movie, Shekhara Varma Rajavu, commenced with a pooja ceremony on Tuesday, 27 August.
The Malayalam movie will be directed by Ishq (2019)-fame Anuraj Manohar.
Shekhara Varma Rajavu was announced in November 2021. There was uncertainty about it as the makers didn’t release any updates since then. There were even speculations that the project was dropped.
However, director Anuraj Manohar took to social media to share the latest update about the film. “Echoes of the streed’s hooves striking the regal paths…Commencement of our next.. Sekhara Varma Raajavu,” he wrote.
In Shekhara Varma Rajavu, Nivin Pauly is believed to portray the role of a person belonging to a royal family who appears as a common man. The movie revolves around the main character, his place in society, and his conflict with it.
The film is produced by Nivin Pauly under the banner of Pauly Jr Pictures. The actor will next be seen in Vinay Govind’s Thaaram and Abrid Shine’s Action Hero Biju 2, a sequel to Action Hero Biju (2016).
Nivin Pauly’s previous release, Malayalee From India, did average business at the box office. He was also part of Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Varshangalkku Shesham. The actor made a comeback of sorts with this Dhyan Sreenivasan and Pravan Mohanlal-starrer.
Meanwhile, filmmaker Anuraj Manohar is also simultaneously working on Tovino Thomas’s next, titled Narivetta. The movie will feature Suraj Venjaramoodu, Tamil actor Cheran, Arya Salim, Priyamvadha Krishnan and Rini Udayakumar in key roles.
The Anuraj Manohar directorial was written by Abin Joseph and will be produced by Indian Cinema Company. The film marks the debut of Tamil actor-director Cheran in Malayalam cinema.
Recently, actor Suraj Venjaramoodu joined the team. Apart from Tovino Thomas, Narivetta also stars Arya Salim, Priyamvadha Krishnan, and Rini Udayakumar in key roles.
