Saiju Kurup's Bharathanatyam postponed

The release of Saiju Kurup’s forthcoming Malayalam flick, Bharathanatyam, has been postponed to 30 August. The film was initially slated for release on 23 August. However, the makers pushed the release date for some reason.

Actor Saiju Kurup, who is also presenting the film under his banner Saiju Kurup Entertainments, wrote on his social media pages, “Dear Friends and Family..wished to inform you all that …our movie Bharatanatyam will be releasing next week on 30th August…please do keep us in your prayers.”

While announcing that Bharathanatyam has been postponed, the actor-producer also shared a new poster.

The first-look poster of the film, released in July, featured Saiju Kurp and Saikumar looking up while everyone else in the poster looked straight.

Sharing the first-look poster on social media, Saiju Kurup wrote that his long-standing desire to produce a movie came to fruition due to the incredible amount of love and encouragement he received from the audience in the past 19 years of his journey in the industry.

The makers recently launched the teaser, which promised that the film would be a fun entertainer.

Bharathanatyam also marks the directorial debut of Krishnadas Murali. He wrote the script. It casts Kalaranjini, Sreeja Ravi, Swathi Das Prabhu, and Nandu Poduval in pivotal roles.

The movie has cinematography by Bablu Aju and music by Samuel Aby. Shadeeque VB is the editor.

Meanwhile, Saiju Kurup’s next, Porattu Nadakam, was scheduled to hit the theatres on 9 August. However, it was postponed due to the Wayanad landslides. The makers are yet to announce the new release date.

The actor’s latest film, Nunakuzhi, is a super hit. It featured Basil Joseph in the lead role and was helmed by Jeethu Joseph.

Before this, he played the lead role in the fantasy horror film Gu. The movie was released in May this year. Interestingly, it was re-released again on 19 July.

Saiju Kurup’s upcoming slate includes Abhilasham and Written and Directed by God.

He is also making his digital debut with the SonyLIV web series Jai Mahendran. The web show is touted to be a political drama presented in a light-hearted tone.
