Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Khalifa’ officially begins

The director further announced that the shoot of 'Khalifa' will start on 6 August, in London.

Prithviraj Sukumaran's Khalifa begins

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s film Kalifa, directed by Vyaksh, has officially begun earlier this week, after much delay.

The film also marks the reunion of the Prithviraj and Vyaksh after 15 years. They worked together in the film Pokiri Raja. 

Sharing the news, the director wrote on his social media, “The journey of #Khalifa officially begins!”

Noting that he is beyond thrilled to collaborate with the actor, he added, “Our pooja ceremony for this ambitious film, starring the incredible @therealprithvi, happened today.”

The director further announced that the shoot of the film will start on 6 August, in London.

Introducing the team, he wrote: “This project brings together a powerhouse team – Penned by Jinu Abraham, Jomon T John’s visual magic, Music by the current music sensation Jakes Bejoy, Cuts by Chaman Chacko, Styled by Mashar Hamza and Action to be directed by Yannick Ben. Seeking all your blessings and good wishes for this venture.”

The actor was last seen in L2: Empuraan. He also has many interesting projects in the pipeline—Vilayath Buddha and Nobody in Malayalam, pan India films Salaar Part II and SSMB29, and Daayra, and Sar Zameen in Hindi.

Daayra, directed by Meghna Gulzaar, stars Kareena Kapoor opposite Prithviraj. According to reports, Daayra taps into the pulse of the people as it confronts the topical and diabolical realities unfolding in society today. “This crime-drama thriller explores the age-old paradox of crime and punishment,” the makers added.

Meanwhile, Kayoze Irani directed Sarzameen stars Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan.

Nissam Basheer’s Nobody features Parvathy Thiruvothu opposite Prithviraj. The film went onto floors in April.

Vilayath Buddha directed by Jayan Nambiyar has Anu Mohan and Priyamvada Krishnan in prominent roles alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film is currently in post-production.
