Prithviraj Sukumaran to collaborate with ‘Meppadiyan’ director Vishnu Mohan

Following Vipin Das’s Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil (2024), Prithviraj Sukumaran’s new project, scripted by Vishnu Mohan, will be filmed outside Kerala. At the success celebration of the latest comedy venture, the actor, confirmed upcoming films with Nissam Basheer, Vipin Das, and Vishnu Mohan.

Meanwhile, Vishnu Mohan, who won a national award for his debut film, Meppadiyan (2022) starring Unni Mukundan, is currently working on his next directorial, Kadha Innuvare.

Recently, Prithviraj won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his role in Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life (2024). He has further announced his next project with Rorschach (2022) director Nissam Basheer, titled Nobody, an action entertainer.

The actor is also addressing the Hema Committee report related to the AMMA executive committee and Mohanlal’s resignation as AMMA president, advocating for those accused to face investigation and step down during the inquiry.

Prithviraj has several projects underway, including the Telugu film Salaar: Shouryanga Parvam, besides Vipin Das’s Santosh Trophy.

Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire, which was released in December 2023, impressed audiences with its action drama. Directed by KGF’s Prashanth Neel and starring Prabhas, the film received widespread acclaim and performed exceptionally well at the box office.

Its Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions were later released on OTT platforms. Fans are eagerly anticipating the sequel, with reports indicating that production will begin later this year.

Prithviraj is directing the sequel to Lucifer (2019), titled L2: Empuraan. The first look of Mohanlal from the film was unveiled on his 64th birthday, showing him as Khureshi Abraam in all-black attire and sunglasses, surrounded by bodyguards.

L2: Empuraan began filming in October last year and has completed several schedules.

Written by Murali Gopy, the sequel features Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, and Indrajith Sukumaran reprising their roles from Lucifer. Cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev and composer Deepak Dev return for this film as well.

Backed jointly by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions, L2: Empuraan marks the latter’s first Malayalam venture.
