The film is being produced by Ramachandra Chakravarthy and S Sashikanth of Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios— the makers of Bramayugam.

This film is also being touted to be a thriller, making it Rahul Sadasivan’s third consecutive horror film after Bhoothakaalam (2022) and Bramayugam (2024).

Cinematographer Shehnad Jalal and editor Shafique Mohamed Ali, who worked on both films, return for this project. Jothish Shankar, director of Ponman, will handle art direction, and Kalai Kingson, known for Marco, will choreograph the stunts. The technical team also includes sound designer Jayadevan Chakkadath, sound mixer Rajakrishnan MR, makeup artist Ronex Xavier, and costume designer Melwy J.

Pranav Mohanlal was last seen in Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Varshangalkku Shesham, which was received well at the box office, especially by family audience. The film had earned over ₹50 crore in the first seven days of its release.

The movie depicts the emotional journey of two friends and ardent cinema lovers — Murali (Pranav Mohanlal) and Venu (Dhyan Sreenivasan). It showcases their struggles in the 1980s-90s Madras, the paradise of Malayalam cinema.

Meanwhile, Rahul Sadasivan’s last film Bramayugam, with Mammootty, was a huge hit. The Malayalam movie grossed ₹60 crore worldwide.

Bramayugam revolved around a sorcerer named Kodumon Potty played by Mammootty. His intense performance and the Black-and-White format offered a new experience to the viewers. The detailing of the story, the mystery behind the three major characters, and the brilliant background score played crucial roles in the film.
