Jothish Shankar entered the Malayalam film industry as an art director with Adaminte Makan Abu, which was released in 2011. He is also recognised as a seasoned production designer.
Some of his notable works as a production designer include Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum (2017), Kumbalangi Nights (2019), and Virus (2019).
Ponman is aiming for a release later this year and will be produced by Ajith Vinayaka Films.
Meanwhile, Basil Joseph has become a busy actor with his films becoming superhits at the box office. The actor-director’s latest outing Nunakuzhi has been declared a hit along with Vaazha, where Basil played a quirky cameo role.
His previous release with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil, was a blockbuster.
Basil Joseph is now shooting for Marana Mass produced by actor Tovino Thomas. He will also be seen in Pravinkoodu Shappu and Sookshmadarshini. The actor stated that he did these two films by getting out of his comfort zone.
Sookshmadarshini is directed by debutant MC Jithin and this will be a film in which Nazriya Nazim is acting after a long time.
Pravinkoodu Shappu is directed by debutant Sreeraj Sreenivasan and produced by Anwar Rasheed Entertainments. It also features Soubin Shahir and Chemban Vinod Jose in key roles.
After completing his acting commitments, Basil Joseph will reportedly start working on his Bollywood debut, Shaktimaan, headlined by Ranveer Singh.
