The new teaser of Saiju Kurup’s forthcoming film, Porattu Nadakam, has piqued the interest of the Malayali audience. The film marks the debut directorial of Noushad Saffron, who worked as the associate director of the late filmmaker Siddique.
The new teaser of Porattu Nadakam is funny and hard-hitting and promises to be a wholesome entertainer with ample social commentary.
The movie is touted to be a satire on the current socio-political scenario. It revolves around the events happening in 21 days in a fictional village called Gopalapura.
Porattu Nadakam was crafted under the supervision of the late director Siddique. Vijayan Pallikkara is producing it under the banner of Emirates Productions.
The screenplay was written by Suneesh Varanad, known for his films like Mohanlal (2018), Eesho (2022), and Qalb (2024). He is also the recipient of the 2023 Kerala Sahithya Akademi Award in the Best Humour category.
Apart from Saiju Kurup, Porattu Nadakam stars Rahul Madhav, Dharmajan Bolgatti, Ramesh Pisharody, Sunil Sugatha, Nirmal Palazhi, Rajesh Azheekode, Babu Annur, and Sooraj Thelakkad in key roles.
The Malayalam film is set to release in theatres on 9 August, coinciding with the first death anniversary of director Siddique.
The cinematography for the movie was handled by Noushad Shereef. Rajesh Rajendran is its editor and Rahul Raj is the music composer.
Meanwhile, Saiju Kurup will next be seen in Bharathanatyam, which will be released on 23 August. The movie marks the maiden production venture of the actor.
Saiju Kurup was last seen in GU, which was helmed by debutant director Manu Radhakrishnan. The fantasy-horror film featured the actor and child artiste Deva Nandha as father and daughter.
Saiju Kurup’s upcoming ventures in Malayalam include Abhilasham and Written and Directed by God. The actor is also making his digital debut on SonyLIV with the web show Jai Mahendran. It is expected to be a political drama.
