A new set of posters featuring the women characters in the upcoming Disney+ Hotstar series, Nagendran’s Honeymoons, caught the fancy of fans.
Headlined by Suraj Venjaramoodu and Prashanth Alexander, the web series is billed as a comedy-drama set in a rural backdrop. The web show comes with the tagline: “1 Life… 5 Wives.”
Nagendran’s Honeymoons will be available on Disney+ Hotstar from 19 July.
Nagendran’s Honeymoons marks the debut web series of director Nithin Renji Panicker, the son of actor-director Renji Panicker. He also scripted and produced the show.
Nithin Renji Panicker debuted in the Malayalam film industry with Mammootty’s Kasaba (2016). He also helmed Kaaval (2021), which starred Suresh Gopi in the lead role.
Interestingly, Nagendran’s Honeymoons also marks the debut web series for Suraj Venjaramoodu. Besides him, the web show casts Shwetha Menon, Grace Antony, Kani Kusruti, Niranjana Anoop, and Alphy Panjikaran in prominent roles.
The involvement of Kani Kusruti in the show piqued interest among audiences since this is the immediate release of the talented actor after her film As We Imagine as Light won the prestigious Grand Prix Award award at the Cannes Film Festival.
Kalabhavan Shajohn, Ramesh Pisharody, Janardanan and Ammu Abhirami are also part of the cast.
Nikhil S Praveen was the cinematographer, Mansoor Muthutty was the editor, and Ranjin Raj was the music composer.
Earlier, the makers unveiled a teaser that built anticipation for the show.
This is the fourth Malayalam web series to be premiered on Disney+ Hotstar. Kerala Crime Files (2023), Masterpeace (2023), and Perilloor Premier League (2024) were all superhits.
Suraj started as a comedy actor and eventually took up serious and character roles. He was recently seen sharing the screen with Kunchako Boban in Grrr and Nadannna Sambavam. Both films had a decent run in theatres.
Suraj Venjaramoodu will next be seen in Nissam Basheer’s upcoming film. Biju Menon and Dhyan Sreenivasan will also play the lead roles in this flick.
Further, the actor turned producer for Aamir Pallikkal’s ED-Extra Decent. He is also debuting in Tamil cinema with Chiyaan Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, directed by SU Arun Kumar.
