'Nadanna Sambavam' locks its OTT premiere date. (Instagram)
The Malayalam film Nadanna Sambavam will be premiered on the manoramaMax OTT platform on 9 August. A social media post confirming the same was posted on Instagram by manoramaMax.
It stars Biju Menon, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Shruti Ramachandran, Johny Antony, and Lijomol Jose in the lead roles.
Nadanna Sambavam was written by Rajesh Gopinadhan and jointly produced by Anup Kannan and A Renu. It was directed by Vishnu Narayan, who debuted in Malayalam cinema in 2018 with Maradona.
Manesh Madhavan cranked the camera for the flick. Ankit Menon composed the music and background score. The movie was released in theatres on 21 June.
The plot revolves around a stay-at-home husband Unni (Biju Menon), his working wife (played by Shruthi Ramachandran), and their daughter who relocate to a housing colony. Unni takes care of the household and becomes a favourite for the women living in the housing colony.
Their neighbours Ajith (Suraj Venjaramoodu) and his wife Dhanya (Lijo Mol) Ajith are irritated by Unni’s friendly behaviour towards women, particularly Dhanya. This leads to a serious argument between the two men and affects the life of Unni.
Nadanna Sambavam also discusses how male chauvinist men deprive women of opportunities and decision-making powers. It is also vocal about the need for sex education for youths and adults. The film also delves into issues related to women’s sexual needs and priorities.
Suraj Venjaramoodu’s performance in the movie was widely appreciated. His Ajith was a representative of the patriarchal society. The movie didn’t become a commercial hit but had a good run in the multiplexes.
Nadanna Sambavam was Biju Menon’s immediate release after the hit film Thalavan along with Asif Ali. He was also seen in Thundu, which received a mixed response.
