Mohanlal visits Sri Lankan Parliament

Actor Mohanlal, in his recent visit to Sri Lanka, visited the country’s parliament, and noted that he was “Deeply honoured by the gracious welcome.”

The Malayalam superstar also met the top leaders of the country— Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne, and Deputy Speaker Rizvie Salih.

Sharing the photo from the visit, Mohanlal wrote on X: “Deeply honoured by the gracious welcome at the Parliament of Sri Lanka. It was a true privilege to meet the Honourable Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, Deputy Speaker Dr. Rizvie Salih, and my dear friend Ishantha Ratnayake. I remain deeply grateful for the warmth, generosity, and meaningful conversations that made this visit to Sri Lanka truly unforgettable.”

Mohanlal- Mahesh Narayanan’s project

According to reports, the actor is in Sri Lanka for his project with Mahesh Narayanan. The film, tentatively being referred to as MMMN, is touted to be a big-budget political thriller.

Mahesh Narayanan, an editor-turned-filmmaker, is renowned for directing critically acclaimed films such as Take Off (2017), C U Soon (2020), Malik (2021), and Ariyippu (2022).

Meanwhile, Mohanlal’s last film Thudarum recently crossed ₹ 200 crore gross worldwide.

M Renjith of Rejaputhra Visual Media bankrolled Thudarum. Tharun Moorthy and KR Sunil wrote it. Nishad Yusuf edited it, and Vishnu Govind was the sound designer. Jakes Bejoy composed the music.

Prior to that, he also had a hit with L2: Empuraan. The actor-turned-director Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial was produced by Aashirwad Productions and helmed by Antony Perumbavoor, a close associate of Mohanlal. Apart from Mohanlal, the film has Manju Warrier, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and others in lead roles.
