Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph’s suspense thriller Dhrishyam 3, the next part of the franchise, is set t0 go on floors in October.
Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the first part Drishyam 1, released in 2013 revolved around Georgekutty (Mohanlal) and his family, who come under suspicion when Varun Prabhakar, the son of the IG Geetha Prabhakar, goes missing.
The second part was made after almost a decade, in 2021, which was also a huge hit. The franchise was remade in various Indian languages, including Hindi and Telugu.
With the franchise’s success, the next part— Drishyam 3 has become the most anticipated project.
Sharing the news, the makers wrote on X: “October 2025 — the camera turns back to Georgekutty. The past never stays silent.”

In 2o24, Panorama Studios teamed up with Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films for the Hollywood remake of the Drishyam franchise.
Panorama Studios acquired the international remake rights to the Malayalam movies Drishyam 1 & 2 from the original producers Aashirvad Cinemas.
The film series is also being developed in South Korea, and a development deal is being finalised for a Spanish version.
Apart from this, Jeethu Joseph also has Mirage, with Aparna Balamurali, and Asif Ali, which is set to release late this year.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal’s last film Thudarum recently crossed ₹ 200 crore gross worldwide.
M Renjith of Rejaputhra Visual Media bankrolled Thudarum. Tharun Moorthy and KR Sunil wrote it. Nishad Yusuf edited it, and Vishnu Govind was the sound designer. Jakes Bejoy composed the music.
Prior to that, Mohanlal also had a hit with L2: Empuraan. The actor-turned-director Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial was produced by Aashirwad Productions and helmed by Antony Perumbavoor, a close associate of Mohanlal. Apart from Mohanlal, the film has Manju Warrier, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and others in lead roles.
