Malayalam super hit movie Manjummel Boys has added another feather to its cap. The Chidambaram directorial survival thriller has now won the award for Best Music at the Kino Bravo International Film Festival held in Russia.
Manjummel Boys is the only Indian film to be screened in the competition section of the festival, which includes an impressive lineup of films like How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies from Thailand, Fossil from Iran and Hans Crosses the Rubicon from South Africa.
Manjummel Boys became a blockbuster hit in not only Malayalam but also across India. One of the strong points of the film is its music composed by Sushin Shyam.
Sharing the news on Instagram, the makers wrote: “Award for the Best Music at Kino Bravo International Film Festival held at Sochi, Russia.”

The award was received by Chidambaram in Russia. Music director Sushin Shyam too took to Instagram to share the award.

The festival was held from 28 September to 4 October, and the film was screened on 1 October.
While Manjummel Boys was the only Indian film in competition this year, Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light was screened in the Out of Competition: Festival Hits category and the global hit RRR (2022) was screened in the Out of Competition Blockbusters category.
On the other hand, Sushin Shyam has also submitted his work in Avesham and Manjummel Boys for Grammy consideration.

Written and directed by Chidambaram, Manjummel Boys is a survival thriller inspired by true events. It revolves around a group of youngsters from Manjummel, a suburb in Ernakulam, who visit Kodaikanal for a leisure trip.
During their excursion, one of the gang members becomes trapped in a dangerous cave, leading to a gripping survival mission involving police, fire officials, and locals.
Overall, the film surpassed ₹200 crore in worldwide collections. It is produced by Soubin Shahir, Shawn Antony, and Babu Shahir.
