Manju Warrier dubbing for Vettaiyan

Manju Warrier, who plays Rajinikanth’s wife in the highly anticipated film, Vettaiyan, began dubbing her portions on 28 August.

Lyca Productions, the studio behind the action thriller, shared the news with photos of Warrier, in the recording studio on their social media.

Recently, actors Fahadh Faasil, Abhirami, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan also completed dubbing for their roles in the film.

Directed by Jai Bhim-fame TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan boasts an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan (making his Tamil debut), Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and VJ Rakshan.

This film marks the reunion of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth after 33 years; their last collaboration was Hum in 1991.

Rajinikanth completed filming his portions back in May. Vettaiyan features music by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his fourth collaboration with Rajinikanth.

The technical team also includes cinematographer SR Kathir and editor Philomin Raj.

Vettaiyan, a quintessential Rajinikanth film: Manju Warrier

Scheduled for release on 10 October, Vettaiyan will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.

The film has generated significant buzz since its announcement, especially after the title teaser, released last December, featured Rajinikanth reading a book and wielding a lathi in various scenes.

“It’s a quintessential Rajinikanth film,” said Manju Warrier while promoting her upcoming Malayalam movie Footage. “After becoming a fan of TJ Gnanavel’s work in Jai Bhim, I was thrilled to collaborate with him. I’m confident Vettaiyan will match that film’s quality while delivering the essential elements of a Rajinikanth movie.”

Anirudh Ravichander, who previously worked with Rajinikanth on Petta (2019), Darbar (2020), and Jailer (2023), returns as the music composer for Vettaiyan.

Since her comeback with How Old Are You? (2014) Manju Warrier has consistently pushed boundaries as an actor.

“My criterion for selecting a project has always been whether it excites me. Of course, I’ve made mistakes along the way. With viewers now exposed to diverse content, and we as artistes also exploring fresh narratives and storytelling, I, like many others, strive to raise the bar with each film,” she shared in a recent interview.
