Mammootty’s upcoming film Bazooka directed by Deeno Dennis, which was set to release on Valentine’s Day, is now officially postponed. The thriller will now be released during the Vishu season, on 10 April.
Sharing the release date on Instagram, the production house Mammootty Kampany wrote: “Get ready for a mind-bending ride like never before. #Bazooka in theatres from 10th April 2025. Best Wishes to @deenodennis & the entire team.”
Deeno Dennis is the son of veteran writer Kaloor Dennis. The film also stars Tamil filmmaker Gautam Vasudev Menon in the role of a police officer.
Apart from Mammootty and Gautham Menon, it stars Sidharth Bharthan, Shine Tom Chacko, VK Prakash, Vasisht Umesh, and Bhama Arun.
Dolwin Kuriakose and Jinu V Abraham are backing it under the banner of Theatre of Dreams in association with Vikram Mehra and Siddharth Anand Kumar for Yoodlee Films.
The Deeno Dennis directorial has cinematography by Nimish Ravi, music by Midhun Mukundan, and editing by Nishad Yusuf. The big-budget movie was shot in 90 days.
The one-minute-43-second teaser of Bazooka, released in August, begins with two people beating up a man as Tamil filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Benjamin Joshua watches. He lies to his higher official on the phone call, who warns him against landing in unnecessary trouble, that he’s just watching a second show.
It is then revealed that Benjamin Joshua and his fellow cops have indeed nabbed a notorious gang. A voice-over declares that it’s time for a “game between good and bad”.
In the next shot, we’re introduced to Mammootty who gears up for the game as he receives a message, “Hey buddy, it’s Tuxedo time.”
The Bazooka teaser ends with Benjamin Joshua asking Mammootty’s character what his role in the story is and the latter replying, “There’s no role that I haven’t taken on, bro!”
