Malayalam actor Swasika’s performance in Tamil film ‘Lubber Pandhu’ gets appreciation

Directed by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, 'Lubber Pandhu' speaks about caste discrimination prevalent in the local cricket clubs in rural Tamil Nadu.

Swasika in Lubber Pandhu

Tamil film Lubber Pandhu which is receiving an overwhelming response, is also gaining special attention from the Malayalam audience, all credit to Malayalam actor Swasika.

Swasika plays an important role in the new Tamil movie released on 20 September. Apart from Swasika, Attakathi Dinesh, Harish Kalyan, and Sanjaya Krishnamoorthy are in the lead roles.

The movie based on the local cricket matches, shows the character arcs of the lead characters Gethu and Anbu, played by Attakathi Dinesh and Harish Kalyan as they are entangled in these matches.

Swasika plays the role of Yashodha, the wife of Gethu played by Attakathi Dinesh. Yashodha is a strong character who shares a deep bond with her husband.

The story mainly revolves around the ego clash between these two characters and how the women played by Swasika and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy handle the situation.

Directed by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, the movie also speaks about caste discrimination prevalent in the local cricket clubs in rural Tamil Nadu.

Special screening in Kerala

A special screening of Lubber Pandhu was organised in Kochi, on Tuesday, 24 September, which was attended by Malayalam celebrities including Vinay Fort, Bala, Sshivada, Tharun Moorthy, Dinesh Panicker

Swasika while speaking to the media expressed her happiness for the overwhelming response she has been receiving for her role and the film.

Actor Manju Pillai and Ananya, who attended the screening appreciated Swasika’s performance and said that they were happy to see Swasika getting an important role in a Tamil movie.

Swasika was earlier seen in Malayalam movies Nunakkuzhi (2024) and DNA (2024). She also received the Best Character Actress award at Kerala State Film Awards 2019 for her performance in Vasanthi.

However, her performance in Lubber Pandhu has turned out to be her career-best performance so far.
