Malayalam actor Ganapathi charged with reckless driving under the influence of alcohol

Malayalam actor Ganapathi who is known role in Manjummel Boys (2024) has been charged with reckless driving under the influence of alcohol on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, 23 and 24 November.

The police also charged the actor with disregard for police instructions. The incident took place on the National Highway between Angamaly and Kalamassery.

The Ernakulam ACP initially spotted the actor speeding and changing lanes erratically on the highway. Police signalled him to stop at Athani and Aluva, but he reportedly ignored the instructions and continued driving.

His vehicle was eventually intercepted at Kalamassery, where he underwent an alcohol test. After this, he was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

According to the Mathrubhumi report, the actor was arrested and later released on bail.

Ganapathi’s career

The actor started his journey in the film industry as a dubbing artist in Santhosh Sivan’s Anandabhadram (2005). While he started acting as a child actor, he received prominence after his role in Sathyan Anthikad’s Vinodayathra (2007).

He later did many roles including the one in the highly successful Manjummel Boys.

Apart from acting, Ganapathi also co-wrote the 2021 film Jan.E.Man.
