Tamil music director Yuvan Shankar Raja is making his debut in Malayalam as a playback singer. He lent his voice to the song “Kadal Pole” from the upcoming Malayalam film Kummatikali.
Actors Suresh Gopi and Tovino Thomas shared the “Kadal Pole” video song on their respective social media handles recently. The peppy, fast-paced number was picturised on the film’s main cast.
Yuvan Shankar Raja sounded effortless while rendering his debut Malayalam song. The track drew a good response from music lovers. Netizens felt that the song had good vibes and “Yuvan’s voice was perfect”.
The song was composed by Sumesh Parameswar and the lyrics were penned by Santhosh Varma.
Directed by RK Vincent Selva, Kummatikali features actor-politician Suresh Gopi‘s son Madhav Suresh in the lead role. It also casts Lena, Devika Satheesh, Yami, Anuprabha, Major Ravi, Mime Gopi, Azeez Nedumangad, Sohan Seenulal, Sinoj Angamaly, Mithun Prakash, Rashik Ajmal, and Aneesh Gopal in pivotal roles.
The technical crew of the movie includes cinematographer Venkatesh, editor Don Max, and music director Jackson Vijayan.
Kummatikali is produced by RB Choudary under the banner of Super Good Films. It also marks the 98th production venture of the banner.
It is being filmed in the same locations where Amaram (1991) was shot. Reports also claim that the film is loosely based on the Mammootty-starrer. Amaram was directed by Bharathan and written by AK Lohithadas.
Meanwhile, Madhav Suresh is also working on Suresh Gopi’s upcoming film JSK: Janaki vs. State of Kerala.
On the work front, Yuvan Shankar Raja is busy composing the music and background score for Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), directed by Venkat Prabhu, and Karthi’s Sardar 2.
Further, Yuvan Shankar Raja is soon coming up with his next production venture—Sweetheart. He earlier bankrolled Pyaar Prema Kaadhal (2018) and Maamanithan (2022).
