Unni Mukundan and Haneef Adeni’s Macro has wrapped up the shoot after nearly 100 days.

The upcoming film is touted to be an action-packed thriller and the most violent film ever made in Malayalam.

Marco, a spin-off of Mikhael (2019), both directed by Haneef, once again features Unni Mukundan as an antagonist, as he did alongside Nivin Pauly in the original film.

The makers expressed their excitement at completing the “ambitious shooting schedule” for Marco.

“What a wild ride it’s been! We spent nearly 100 days on set, with an insane 60-day action sequence that’s going to blow your minds. Major props to our action hero, Unni Mukundan, and the mastermind action director, Kalai Kingson, for making sure every shot is pure fire,” the statement said.

The press statement highlights Unni Mukundan’s relentless energy on set, which has elevated his role to a standout performance.

“It teases audiences with the promise of witnessing Unni like never before, emphasising that his intense action sequences and striking transformation will set a new benchmark, aiming to redefine the action genre in Malayalam cinema,” the statement further added.

‘Not for faint-hearted’

Sharing a poster, Unni Mukundan wrote: “The movie will be brutal and violent. Definitely, not for kids and the faint-hearted ones”.

The ensemble cast of Marco includes Kabir Duhan Singh, Anson Paul, Arjun Nandakumar, Durva Thaker, Yukti Tareja, Abhimanyu Shammy Thilakan, Ishan Shoukath, Siddique, Jagadish and Riyaz Khan, among others.

Chandru Selvaraj handles the cinematography for Marco, with Shameer Muhammed as the editor. KGF-fame Ravi Basrur composes the music. The film will be dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

Marco is produced by Shareef Muhammed and Abdul Gadhaf of Cubes Entertainments, in collaboration with Unni Mukundan Films, the lead actor’s home production company.
