Tovino Thomas’s next venture, Identity, is set to release early next year. While the release date is not yet confirmed, the action thriller has locked its release window for January 2025.
With just a month left, the makers have started promoting the film. As part of the same, they released the film’s teaser on Wednesday, 4 December, in Kochi. On Thursday, 5 December, they also shared the character posters of the cast.
The film’s team, along with lead actor Tovino Thomas, attended the event and shared their experiences of working on Identity.
The movie also stars Trisha Krishnan in the lead role opposite Tovino. Identity also stars Mandira Bedi, Shammi Thilakan, Aju Varghese, Arjun Radhakrishnan, Archana Kavi, Gopika Ramesh, Aneesh Gopal, Giju John, and Dhruvan.

The 1-minute and 41-second teaser of Identity opens with Tovino’s character in a conversation with Trisha’s character, who seems to be describing a face for him to sketch. She explains that the face has a pentagon-like shape, “On a square-shaped face, he has a chin extending downward like a fifth corner,” she is seen saying. The teaser then shifts to a fast-paced sequence filled with stylized action, chases, and stunts.

Speaking at the teaser launch, Tovino Thomas shared that this movie is special to him, and mentioned that the journey was long, with over 130 days of shooting. He added that the shoot was hectic, but there was ample room for creativity.
Tovino praised the art department for their exceptional work on the sets, as well as the costume department for creating unique looks for each character. He also acknowledged the hard work of dual directors Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, assuring the movie’s high quality. Writer Akhil Paul started working on the script in 2020, completing it in 2022.
He noted that at one point, producer Raju Malliath struggled with the budget, but the Confident Group stepped in, allowing shooting to continue smoothly.
Aju Varghese, who plays a police officer, expressed his gratitude for being part of the film, thanking the directors and producers for trusting him with the role. Vinay Rai shared that he had memorable experiences while filming that he would cherish forever.
Identity is produced by Raju Malliath and Dr Roy CJ under their production companies Ragam Films and Confident Group respectively. The music of the movie is done by Jakes Bejoy and the cinematography by Akhil George.
