‘Gaganachari’ trailer raises expectations for the Malayalam sci-fi film

The Arun Chandu directorial received wide appreciation at international film festivals and special premieres.

The forthcoming Malayalam sci-fi movie, Gaganachari, has received wide appreciation at international film festivals and special premieres.

The film is slated for release in theatres on 21 June.

On Tuesday, 17 June, the makers dropped Gaganachari trailer, which hinted that the film is a dystopian comedy.

Directed by Arun Chandu, the Malayalam film gained attention and generated excitement among moviegoers with its promotional teasers and posters.

This is the second directorial of Arun Chandu. He debuted in the industry in 2021 with Saajan Bakery Since 1962.

Gaganachari premiered at Kerala Pop Con in January and was screened for a select audience in May, where it evoked a warm response from everyone.

After the special screening in May, the makers announced that the positive feedback for the film boosted their confidence.

Anarkali Marikar played the role of an alien in Gaganachari. The actor is quite excited about the theatrical release.

The flick also features Gokul Suresh, Aju Varghese, KB Ganesh Kumar, Anarkali Marikar, and John Kaipallil in key roles.

About Gaganachari

Gaganachari is set in a dystopian version of Kerala in 2043.

It features the comedy events that happen in an apartment inhabited by three bachelors. Their flat becomes a refuge for an extraterrestrial female fugitive (played by Anarkali).

It was written by Arun Chandu and Siva Sai. The duo crafted an interesting story for the film, with a blend of science fiction and humour.

Siva Sai worked as an assistant to veteran director Priyadarshan.

Gaganachari is produced under the banner of Ajith Vinayaka Films.

The cinematography is handled by Surjith S Pai.

The music is composed by Shankar Sharma.

The action sequences are choreographed by stunt master Phoenix Prabhu.

Sci-fi films aren’t common in Malayalam cinema. However, the overwhelming response to Gaganachari during its premiere raised the expectations among fans and film enthusiasts.
