Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu’s Tamil film Maareesan is all set to hit the big screens in July. This film is their second collaboration after their successful venture Maamannan (2023).
Maareesan, directed by Sudheesh Sankar, marks the 98th production venture of RB Choudhary’s Super Good Films.
Sharing the poster, the makers wrote: “Get ready for the ultimate face off! Maareesan is hitting theatres this July 2025!”

The makers earlier released the title poster of the film with the tagline: “The hunt begins today”. The first-look poster, released in 2024, gave the impression that it is a comedy-drama.
However, the current poster shows both the actors facing each other with wounds on one.
Maareesan is directed by Sudheesh Sankar, a Malayalam filmmaker who helmed movies like Venal Kinavukal (1991), Aarumaname (2009), and Villali Veeran (2014).
Kalaiselvan Sivaji is the cinematographer. Sreejith Sarang is the editor. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music for the film.
According to a TOI report, the film revolves around an adventurous road trip from Nagercoil to Pollachi, promising an exciting journey filled with unexpected twists and turns. This travel-based storyline adds a fresh and dynamic element, making the film even more intriguing. The road trip backdrop, combined with strong performances, is expected to be one of Mareesan’s major highlights.
The South First review of Maamannan described the actors’ performances as, “Fahadh Faasil as Rathnavel impresses yet again. He comes up with a performance so sharp that it is hard to imagine another actor playing his part. Vadivelu as Maamannan, showcases a side he has not shown the world so far. Measured, dignified, polite and kind always, Vadivelu as Maamannan is just exceptional.”
