The most anticipated venture from the Malayalam cinema is Empuraan. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and led by Mohanlal, the film is touted to be the sequel to the 2019 release Lucifer.
While the film had completed shooting its foreign schedule in April, the team had been shooting in Gujarat.
However, the Gujarat schedule was delayed owing to heavy rains and flooding in the region.
Now the film unit has shifted to Hyderabad, to continue the shooting. Prithviraj taking to Instagram announced that the shoot has now been moved from Gujarat to Hyderabad.
He also praised his team for shiting the unit across 1,400 km in 12 hours. He wrote: ” Empuraan Guj ——> Hyd. A 1400kms shift, 12 hr turn around time, one hell of a team!”
Prithviraj in September, took to his Instagram stories, to share an update about the film, with a picture of the ongoing shoot. The actor-director shared that the filming of the big-budget movie has finally resumed in Gujarat after a slight delay.
He also wrote that, if everything goes well, the shooting in Gujarat will be finished by September end. The movie still has portions to be completed in Dubai and some parts of Kerala. Earlier it was shot in the US and UK.
Previously Mohanlal in an interview also said that they were shooting in Gujarat and after heavy rains, the shooting had to be stopped.
He also revealed that there will be an overall 250 members involved in the Gujarat schedule. The location will be used to shoot the flashback portions of the movie which will tell the story of the lead character done by Mohanlal.
L2: Empuraan, the sequel to Mohanlal’s blockbuster movie Lucifer, was announced in 2022.
It is the most anticipated project of Mohanlal as Lucifer was a mega-hit and shattered the collection figures big time.
Lucifer was produced by Aashirwad Productions and helmed by Antony Perumbavoor, a close associate of Mohanlal.
