Chiranjeevi, Mammootty, Kamal Haasan, Kichcha Sudeep and others condemn Pahalgam terror attack

Following the attack, the Resistance Front — a part of the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) — took responsibility of the shooting on tourists.

Pahalgam terror attack

Actors from across the industries have condemned the terror attack killed at least 26 people in Jammu & Kashmir’s Pahalgam.

Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan took to X, to express shock over the attack. He wrote: “I strongly condemn the heinous terror attack in Pahalgam. My thoughts are with the families who have lost their loved ones, and I wish strength and recovery to the injured. India stands united — in grief, in resolve, and in our commitment to uphold law, order, and national security.”

TVK chief Vijay too took to X, to share his condolences. He wrote: “Deeply pained by the barbaric terror attack in Pahalgam, J&K, claiming innocent lives, including our Tamil Nadu brethren. I strongly condemn this cowardly and despicable act of violence. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, and prayers for the swift recovery of the injured.”

Mammootty and Mohanlal condemn the attack

Meanwhile, Mohanlal noted that, ” No cause can ever justify the taking of innocent lives.”

He further wrote, “To the grieving families, your sorrow is beyond words. Please know that you are not alone. The entire nation stands with you in mourning. Let us hold on to each other a little tighter and never let go of the hope that peace will prevail even in the face of darkness.”

Mammootty too condemning the attack said, “Absolutely heartbroken by the #Pahalgam terror attack. Words fall short in the face of such tragedy. It’s hard to even imagine the pain and trauma the affected families are going through right now. The entire nation stands in deep mourning, united in grief and solidarity. We place our full trust in our Armed Forces to bring justice for the brave souls we lost. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.”

‘India will never bow to terror’: Vijay Deverakonda

Telugu star Chiranjeevi wrote on X:  “The ghastly attack killing 26 innocent people and tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir is horrifying and heartbreaking. It is an unpardonable act of cruelty. My heart goes out to the families of those killed. Nothing can undo the loss they suffered. My condolences and prayers for them.”

Actor Vijay Deverakonda also took to X, to condemn the attack, he said, ” I celebrated my birthday 2 years ago in Pahalgam, amidst shooting a film, amidst laughter, amidst my local Kashmiri friends who took the greatest care of us.. What happened yesterday is heartbreaking and infuriating – calling yourself a Force and shooting tourists is the most shameful embarrassing and cowardly act of dumb terrorism hiding behind guns. We stand with the victims and their families. We stand with Kashmir. And i hope these cowards are cleaned out. Swiftly. India will never bow to terror.”

‘Assault on spirit of India’: Sudeep

Actor Kichcha Sudeep, calling the attack gut-wrenching wrote on X: “The brutal attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam is heart-wrenching. This is not just an assault on individuals but on the spirit of our nation. This is not the time for restraint, it’s time for a strong and clear response.”

Meanwhile, Yash wrote: “Deeply saddened by the brutal killings of innocent people in Pahalgam. An attack on innocent individuals is beyond comprehension. Standing firmly with the victims’ families and the nation as we mourn this terrible tragedy.”

On Wednesday, 23 April, officials released the sketches of three armed terrorists, who emerged from the shadows of the dense deodar forest around the meadows, and gunned down unarmed tourists around 2.40 pm on Tuesday.

The Resistance Front (TRF), a rebranded Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba group, claimed responsibility for the attack, the deadliest in recent years. The Ministry of Home Affairs had designated TRF as a terrorist organisation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in 2023.
