The makers of Nunakuzhi launched its trailer on Wednesday, 7 August. Headlined by Basil Joseph and directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film promises a fun ride to the audience.
The Nunakuzhi trailer features Eby (Basil Joseph) as the head of a corporate company. He faces an embarrassing situation involving a separated couple (played by Aju Varghese and Grace Antony), a film crew, and a police team. A web of lies connects them all.
In a nutshell, Nunakuzhi is a comedy of errors revolving around a young man who gets caught in a web of lies and mistaken identities.
The first glimpse of the movie, unveiled in July, featured a visibly stunned Basil Joseph and Grace Antony sitting in a police vehicle. The teaser and the “Hallelujah” song, released two weeks ago, also hinted at a hilarious entertainer.
Nunakuzhi went on floors in November 2023. The makers launched the title poster with the tagline: “Liar’s Day Out”. The poster also featured a directorial signpost with some Malayalam adages and popular movie dialogues.
The film’s cast includes Grace Antony, Siddique, Manoj K Jayan, Baiju Santhosh, Saiju Kurup, and Aju Varghese.
The script was penned by KR Krishna Kumar, who previously worked with Jeethu Joseph on Kooman (2022) and 12th Man (2022), both well received by the audience.
Satheesh Kurup handled the cinematography for Nunakuzhi. He collaborated with Jeethu Joseph several times. Vinayak VS is the editor, and Linta Jeethu is the costume designer. Bedtime Stories is producing the film in association with Yoodlee Films.
Director Jeethu Joseph is returning to the comedy genre after a long time. Most of his previous films, including the Drishyam series (2015 & 2022), were thrillers.
Meanwhile, Basil Joseph teamed up with Jeethu Joseph for the first time. The actor-director recently completed the shooting for Pravinkoodu Shappu, helmed by Sreeraj Sreenivasan.
He is also playing the lead role in Marana Mass, directed by debutant Shivaprasad and produced by Tovino Thomas.
