ARM collects ₹100 crore

Ajayante Randam Moshanam (ARM), Tovino Thomas’s new movie, entered the prestigious ₹100-crore club 18 days after its theatrical release.

The movie, released in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, received positive responses from all corners, making it a blockbuster hit.

In a thank you note, the director of the movie Jithin Laal wrote that he is very happy with the success of his film.

“Witness history in the making. Our film ‘armthemovie’ has crossed the monumental 100 Cr+ mark worldwide, and it’s all thanks to YOU! To everyone who believed in us and to everyone who made this journey possible—this milestone is yours too,” he wrote.

ARM crossed the ₹50-crore mark in just five days, owing to the strong promotions and the tag of a “pan-Indian movie”.

Earlier, when the film entered the ₹50-crore club, Jithin Laal claimed, “I gave word that my first movie would be an entertainer which can be enjoyed by people of all age groups. I am happy that I am able to deliver what was promised.”

In race with Kishkindha Kaandam

There has been a close fight between ARM and Kishkindha Kaandam, featuring Asif Ali in the lead role. Kishkindha Kaandam so far collected more than ₹60 crore and is more profitable than ARM compared to its production cost.

ARM is a period fantasy drama, while Kishkindha Kaandam is an investigation drama.

ARM also has the advantage of being a 3D movie with a fantasy tale and it’s a good experience for the family audience entering the theatres.

The movie has good performances by Tovino Thomas who appears in triple roles in three different periods. Surabhi Lakshmi also has an important role to play in this big-budget film.

Tovino Thomas in promotional interviews said that the movie had a total budget of ₹30 crore. Going by this, the movie has by now got a profit of around  ₹70 crore. The movie is jointly produced by Magic Frames and UGM Films.

Ajayante Randam Moshanam is the fourth movie to collect ₹100 crore this year after Premalu, Manjummel Boys, and Aadujeevitham.

However, despite Turbo, Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil, and Vaazha being successful, they have been kept as a low-key affair as the makers feared the Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe on money laundering after a case was registered against Manjummel Boys makers for duping a person who had invested in the movie.
