Makers of RDX booked for financial fraud

After Majummel Boys producers, the makers of RDX (2023) have been booked for committing financial fraud.

The case was filed after the Hill Palace police in Ernakulam’s Tripunithura area received a complaint against the producers of RDX, which grossed over ₹100 crore.

The police said Anjana Abraham, a resident of Tripunithura, filed a complaint against RDX producers Sophia Paul and James Paul for failing to pay the promised profit margins to the stakeholders. Sophia and James bankrolled the film under their banner Weekend Blockbusters.

The financial fraud complaint against the RDX makers came at a time when the Enforcement Directorate (ED) announced that it would probe the financial transactions of blockbuster Malayalam films in the last five years.

The ED entered the picture after a police report confirmed the financial fraud committed by the makers of Manjummel Boys, which collected over ₹200 crore worldwide, made headlines. The central investigative agency launched a probe into the money laundering case registered against the three Manjummel Boys producers—Shawn Antony, Soubin Shahir, and Babu Shahir.
