Young filmmaker Joseph Manu James died of hepatitis at Rajagiri hospital in Kerala’s Aluva on 24 February. He was 31. His debut movie Nancy Rani is releasing in the coming days.
Doctors said Manu James was admitted to the hospital after he was diagnosed with pneumonia and died of hepatitis. His funeral took place at 3 PM in Ernakulam on 26 February.
Manu debuted as a child actor in 2004 in I am Curious. He worked as an assistant director in Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam films.
His directorial debut Nancy Rani is currently in the post-production stage. The movie stars Ahaana Krishna in the titular role. Arjun Ashokan, Dhruvan, and Aju Varghese will appear in key roles.
Ahaana and other actors expressed their shock at Manu James’ sudden demise.
Actor-producer Aju Varghese wrote on his Facebook account: “Gone too soon brother”.
