Joju George Pani

Malayalam actor Joju George has mesmerised audiences with his impeccable roles in his recent films. His performances in Joseph (2018), Porinju Mariyam Jose (2019), and Iratta (2023) were appreciated by one and all.

The actor also played a key role in Dileep’s Voice of Sathyanathan (2023), an average movie. However, there have been reports that Joju will direct a movie soon.

On Sunday, 22 October, marking his birthday, the 46-year-old actor confirmed the same via social media. The motion poster of his debut directorial venture was also released on the occasion.

Pani marks directorial debut

Joju George always wanted to be in the cinema. If not, who will be a junior artist for over a decade?

The National Award-winning actor did smaller roles in films like Pattalam (2001), Ravanprabhu (2001), Rock N Roll (2011), and Dadasahib (2002), to mention a few.

He got a break with Mammootty’s Rajadiraja (2013) where he appeared as a goon with a comic flavour.

Later, he started receiving good roles and was awarded the Kerala State Award for Best Character Actor for Joseph (2018), directed by M Padmakumar.

He also received a special mention at the National Awards for his performance in Joseph.

After receiving much appreciation as an actor, Joju will now debut as a director with Pani. A motion poster of the film was released along with the title launch on Sunday.

Touted to be a thriller based on two rival gangs in Thrissur, Pani features Joju George and Abhinaya in the lead roles. It also has Seema, Chandni Sreedhar, Prasanth Alexander, Babu Namboothiri, and Bitto Davis in significant roles.

Joju is the scriptwriter. Venu is the cinematographer.

The movie is bankrolled by Appu Pathu Pappu Productions and ADS Studios. The music is composed by Vishnu Vijay.
