Prabhas-starrer Adipurush is one of the much-awaited pan-India films. Directed by Om Raut and produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series, it is an epic mythological movie based on The Ramayana.

While Prabhas plays Lord Rama, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan and Sunny Singh play Sita, Ravana and Lakshmana, respectively.

Till a month ago, the makers were sure about releasing Adipurush for Sankranti 2023. But soon, the entire game changed after Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Thalapathy Vijay and Thala Ajith’s films locked the release dates for Pongal 2023.

Subsequently, the makers of Adipurush decided to postpone the film’s release. Meanwhile, rumours are agog that it would be a Sri Rama Navami release.

However, on 7 November, Om Raut announced on social media that the film’s release has been put off until 16 June 2023.

According to sources, the makers are under pressure to re-do the entire VFX because of the poor response they received for the teaser. They reportedly decided to rework the VFX which would approximately cost them another ₹100 crore!

Meanwhile, the industry is wondering how the makers of Adipurush would convince Prabhas, who is well-known for his super-lazy attitude, to reshoot the scenes.

Interestingly, Prabhas’s previous films, Saaho and Radhe Shyam, were also postponed several times. Let’s see what’s in store for his forthcoming flick Salaar!
