National Award-winning actor Suraj Venjaramoodu has proved his mettle, time and again, with his awe-inspiring performances in films like Perariyathavar (2014), Kaanekkaane (2012), and Jana Gana Mana (2022), to mention a few.
The actor was last seen in Enkilum Chandrike which released in theatres last month.
Suraj will be next seen in Madanolsavam directed by newcomer Sudheesh Gopinath. It is scripted by Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval who directed films like Android Kunjappan (2019) and Nna Thaan Case Kodu (2022).
Suraj Venjaramoodu started his career as a comedian. But his fans often complained that the actor is doing more serious roles now and getting typecast. However, in his recent films like Mukundan Unni Associates (2022) and Enkilum Chandrike, Suraj was seen in roles with comic flavour.

Ahead of the release of Madanolsavam on 14 April, the film unit recently organised a press meet in Kochi where Suraj sounded excited about his role in the flick.
“Madanolsavam is a movie I have been waiting for. People were asking me why I am not doing comedy films now and this movie is an answer to that question,” he said.
The actor revealed that he was given the space to do comedy in full swing in the movie.
In the trailer, Suraj Venjaramoodu is seen as a quirky person who gives different colours to hens (chicken). The movie is touted to be a political satire as it speaks about elections and how Madanan (Suraj Venjaramoodu) faces a difficult situation in his life.
It is an adaptation of the novel “Thankachan Manjakkaran” written by E Santhosh Kumar in 2009.

Madanolsavam will also see Babu Antony who rose to fame with his action films in the 90s. The actor had a cult image during that point in time.
Interestingly both Suraj and Babu Antony have the same name (Madanan) in the movie and this makes the story interesting.
“I thought twice before doing Madanolsavam. Sometimes I get scripts that have comedy for the sake of comedy. But this project demands comedy as the script is perfect,” Babu Antony explained.
In Madanolsavam, Suraj Venjaramood debuted as a playback singer.
The makers recently released the making video of the song “Madanan Rap” sung by Suraj and it is trending online.
The music is composed by Christo Xavier and the movie is produced by Vinayaka Ajith.
