Continuing the trend of rereleases in Tollywood, Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Kushi is hitting screens on 31 December. This classic romantic entertainer starred Bhumika Chawla as the female lead.

After its release, the film was defined by critics as a one-man show by Pawan Kalyan.

Kushi is still considered one of the all-time best love stories in the Telugu film industry. And the actor’s fans can’t wait to watch it on the big screens once again.

The movie will usher in the New Year and continue its theatrical run for a week till 6 January.

As the evergreen hit is coming back to cinema halls after 21 years, Pawan Kalyan’s fans are going gung-ho about it.

Written and directed by SJ Suryah, Kushi was released in April 2001. The period marked the initial days of Pawan Kalyan’s career.

Thanks to Suryah’s screenplay and direction besides senior producer AM Rathnam’s acumen, the film became a blockbuster hit and turned a shy Pawan Kalyan into a confident and dominant star.

Kushi is considered one of the important movies in Pawan Kalyan’s career. It was after this flick that his box office figures started to swell.

Indeed, the film collected a whopping ₹27 crore by the end of its theatrical run. It ran successfully for 50 days in 101 centres and 100 days in 79 centres across the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh state.

Besides Pawan Kalyan’s acting and Bhumika’s presence what drove Kushi to such heights was Mani Sharma’s music.

All the songs in the movie topped the chartbusters for several months. Even now, they are hummed by today’s movie lovers.

The inspirational “Ye Mera Jahaan”, the evergreen “Aadavari Matalaku Ardhaale Verule”, the groovy “Ammaye Sannaga”, the peppy “Premante Suluvu Kaduraa”, and the lively “Gajja Ghallmunnado Ro” got into the list of all-time best songs.

On 19 December, the makers of Kushi announced that the film would be re-released on 31 December. As of now, they are busy finalising the theatres.

With a huge response being witnessed from Pawan Kalyan’s fans, across the Telugu states, this hit flick is expected to become a massive affair, yet again!
