Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep’s mother Saroja Sanjeev passed away on Sunday, 20 October, at 86 years, owing to age-related issues.

On Monday, Sudeep took to X, to share a heartfelt note regarding his mother. Describing Saroja Sanjay as a loving and forgiving person, Sudeep said, “(She was) My teacher. My true well-wisher. And my 1st fan. Loved the worst of my work as well.”

Recalling the tragic day, Sudeep further wrote, “I have no words to express the pain I feel right now, I’m unable to accept the Void nor come to terms with what has happened. Everything changed in 24 hours.”

‘Wished me every morning’

The Kannada actor said that the first message he received every morning was from his mother, wishing him good morning.

Recounting the events on the dreadful day, Sudeep said, “I received her last text on Friday, 18 October. I didn’t see her text the next day when I woke up while at BB (Big Boss Kannada). 1st time in so many years. I did send her my morning text and wanted to call and enquire if everything was OK. Discussions of BB’s Saturday episode took away all the time, and just before I went onto the stage, I got a call saying she was hospitalized. I immediately called my sister who was at the hospital, spoke to the doctors and went on to the stage. ”

Stating that he sailed through the episode with the fear at the back of his mind, Sudeep noted, “If I yet sailed through that episode shoot with calm, I owe it to my mother for having taught me how to stay with the job I have accepted amidst all chaos. A principle to be precise.”

He further lamented that he couldn’t meet his mother, in a conscious state, before she was put on a ventilator.

Sudeep then thanked all the friends and well-wishers for their support. “I thank each and everyone, who turned up to pay respects to her. It was indeed very kind of you all. I thank all those who reached out to me through texts and tweets.”
