Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, on New Year’s Day, 1 January, released a video message for his fans, from the hospital in Miami, USA.
The actor in the video message gave an update on his health condition, post-surgery. In the same video, his wife Geeta Rajkumar, said “All the reports are negative, and I am glad to say Shivarajkumar is cancer-free.”
She further thanked the well-wishers for praying for Shiva Rajkumar’s recovery, “I am forever grateful to everyone who prayed for Shivanna’s recovery.”
In the video message, Shiva Rajkumar also added, “I’m scared that I might become emotional while talking because I was a little emotional while leaving. But there are ‘Abhimani Devaru’ who are there to instil courage. Some co-artists, friends, family, and doctors are also there to instil courage.”
Speaking of the challenges, he said, “I shot the climax sequence of my upcoming film 45 in the middle of my treatment. I don’t know where I got the courage from. However, I was a little worried and nervous when I was leaving for the surgery.”
Shiva Rajkumar promised his fans that he would be back on screen soon. “Doctors have asked me to take it easy in the first month. After that, I will be back to my usual self. There’ll be twice as much power in the dance, fights, and the looks. With your blessings, I will always be full of energy.”

The actor had recently travelled to the USA for his treatment. Shiva Rajkumar through surgery on 25 December, had his cancerous bladder removed, and an artificial bladder was made using his intestine.
In a video message released then, Dr Murugesh Manoharan, who performed the surgery explained, “Shivana’s surgery went very well. He had the cancerous bladder removed completely with the complete clearance of the disease. Following the surgery, he had an artificial bladder recreated using his own intestine. Shivanna is a strong person mentally and physically. He was very stable throughout the surgical procedure and did very well following the surgery”
Further stating that the actor is now stable, he added, “All his laboratory work and tests are very good. Also, he is a strong and positive person, and I expect him to recover very quickly and get back to his normalcy within a few weeks.”
