Synopsis: In a post on X, DK Shivakumar wrote: “While environmental compliance remains a top priority, the studio will be given time to address violations in accordance with the norms set by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board. I remain committed to supporting the Kannada entertainment industry, while also upholding our responsibility toward environmental protection.”
A day after Karnataka State Pollution Control Board ordered the closure of Big Boss Kannada season 12 Studio, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar stated that he has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru South District to lift the seal on the studio premises in Bidadi.
On Wednesday, 8 October, the board asked the studio—run by Vels Studios and Entertainment Pvt Ltd— to be shut down operations immediately, following reports of untreated wastewater discharge and poor solid waste management.
In a post on X, he wrote: “While environmental compliance remains a top priority, the studio will be given time to address violations in accordance with the norms set by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board. I remain committed to supporting the Kannada entertainment industry, while also upholding our responsibility toward environmental protection.”
I have directed the Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru South District to lift the seal on Jollywood premises in Bidadi, where Bigg Boss Kannada is being filmed.

In the notice the board observed:
An order was issued stating: In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 33 (A) of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, read with Rule 34 of Karnataka State Board for the Prevention and Control of Water Pollution (Procedure for Transaction of Business) and the Water (Prevention & Control of pollution) Rules, 1976, the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, hereby issues the following directions.
