The actor is doing a bilingual family drama, an adventure thriller, and a fantasy thriller where she plays a guest role.
Well-known for her work in Eradane Sala and Dayavittu Gamanisi, Kannada actor Sangeetha Bhat also did a few Tamil and Telugu projects.
She was in Germany for a few months after taking a sabbatical from acting. Back in India now, she has three movies in the pipeline. They will hit the screens this year.
That’s not all; the actor is all set to turn a producer by launching her own production house — Sangeetha Bhat Sudarshan Films — along with her better half Sudarshan Rangaprasad.
In an exclusive interview with South First, the actress spoke about her upcoming films, her studies, and her prospects as a producer.
Of the three films which she recently wrapped up, one is titled Roopantara where she is paired with Kishore.
“Back from Germany, I was looking forward to working on projects that have diverse roles to perform and not the monotonous run-off-the-mill characters. Roopantara is a bilingual project simultaneously shot in Kannada and Tamil,” Sangeetha Bhat said.
Directed by Srinivas, the movie is a family drama that deals with the relationships between father-child and husband-wife.
“I play the character of a wife who is the pillar of the family. It is much more than what it sounds like and hence the film is being made in two languages for a better reach.”
The 31-year-old does a guest appearance in Aba Jaba Daba. “It’s a meaty role. The film is a fantasy thriller directed by Mayuraa Raghavendra where Pruthvi Ambaar and Ankita are the lead actors,” she explained.
The third one is an adventure thriller titled 48 hours directed by Vaibhav Prashanth where she will be seen as a teenager.
Passionate about fitness and nutrition, Sangeetha noted that she already has a degree in psychology and is now pursuing her Master’s in nutrition and dietetics through distance learning.
“Thanks to the revolution in online education, we can pursue our passion even if we are busy with our careers.
The course is mainly about disease-based diet planning,” she quipped.
Sangeetha Bhat shared that she has been producing short films and videos under her home banner Sangeetha Bhat Sudarshan Films for some time now.
The banner is now venturing into feature filmmaking, too. “My better half Sudarshan is working on our maiden production venture,” she added with a hint of excitement.
Rangaprasad is an actor, stand-up comedian and theatre artist. He plays the lead role in the Kannada television soap “Bhagyalakshmi” which is ruling the small screen in Karnataka.
