Tamil actor Ashok Selvan has grabbed the attention with the superhit film Por Thozhil (2023). His recent movie Blue Star also won critical appreciation.

Meanwhile, speculation is rife that the young actor will work again with Por Thozhil director Vignesh Raja in an interesting venture.

According to reports, Vignesh Raja is contemplating remaking Kamal Haasan’s 1988 blockbuster Sathyaa with Ashok Selvan in the lead. The filmmaker will reportedly attempt a contemporary adaptation of the movie.

However, an official confirmation is awaited about the project.

Kamal Haasan-starrer Sathyaa is a neo-noir political flick that revolves around a young man who aspires to bring about a positive change but is stuck in the underworld politics of a powerful leader.

Kamal Haasan played the protagonist in the film. Amala Akkineni played the leading lady.

Sathyaa marked the debut of Suresh Krishna and continues to be a cult movie in Tamil.

The song “Valaiyosaai“, composed by Ilaiyaraaja, is the favourite of music lovers even after 25 years.

Initial reports suggested that Vignesh Raja would do a sequel to Por Thozhil, but then it was learnt that he is planning a remake of Sathyaa with Ashok Selvan.

Soon after the buzz about Sathyaa remake started, netizens and fans felt that Ashok Selvan would look perfect with the signature short hair and thick beard sported by Kamal Haasan in the cult movie.
