Even as an official announcement is expected regarding Lokesh Kanagaraj and Vijay’s Thakapathy 67 on 26 January, the industry is agog with rumours of Kamal Haasan doing a cameo and Vikram playing the antagonist in the film.

Thalapathy 67 is a part of Lokesh’s Cinematic Universe. The untitled project is being produced by 7 Screen Studio.

Surya was introduced as Rolex in the climax of Kamal Haasan’s Vikram. At that time, Lokesh Kanagaraj said that there would be a sequel to Vikram with Surya and also to Kaithi with Karthi. Incidentally, Karthi did the voiceover in Vikram.

Though Lokesh did not make any announcement, it is known that Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Gautham Menon, Mysskin, Arjun, Priya Anand, and Janani (Bigg Boss 6-fame) are in the team.

There is also speculation that Rishab Shetty, Rakshit Shetty, and Fahadh Faasil will be part of the cast.

Anirudh Ravichander is the music director. Manoj is the cinematographer of Thalapathy 67.

Meanwhile, sources revealed that the next schedule of the movie is in Kashmir where Vijay and Sanjay Dutt will shoot. This is followed by the Telangana schedule.

Last weekend, Vijay and Shaam flew down to Hyderabad to attend the Varisu success party at Producer Dil Raju’s house.

Gautham Menon’s Tamil lyrical video trending

Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Tamil lyrical video song, “Edhuvo Ondru” for the upcoming Malayalam film Anuragam, is trending on YouTube.

In the lyrical video, the director-actor is seen playing a guitar and singing. It already got over 18 lakh views since its release on 22 January.

In what looks like a college reunion and lost love, the song is rendered by Hanan and Joel Johns, who also is the music director of Anuragam. Mohan Rajan is the lyricist.

Earlier, the other single from the same film, “Chillu Aanay” got 10 lakh views on YouTube.

Anuragam is a rom-com family drama directed by Shahad Nilambur of Prakashan Parakate fame. It casts Sheela, Devyani, Lena, Johny Antony, Gouri G Kishan, and Aswin Jose in key roles.

It is jointly produced by Lakshmi Creations and Sathyam Cinemas.
