South Superstar Kamal Haasan on Friday, 10 November, inaugurated a life-sized statue of legendary Telugu actor Superstar late Krishna in Vijayawada.
Kamal Haasan was in the city as part of the shooting of his much-anticipated movie Bharateeyudu 2, the Telugu version of Indian 2. The actor unveiled the statue obliging to the request of Superstar Krishna fans in the city.
Vijayawada East constituency YSCRP in-charge Devineni Avinash accompanied the actor during the event.
Kamal recalled the contribution of Superstar Krishna to Indian cinema. He felt that it was a befitting tribute to the legendary actor who earned a distinct image in the hearts of Telugu audiences.

Responding to the gesture, actor Mahesh Babu, the son of late actor Krishna, expressed his gratitude to Kamal Haasan and the YSRCP leader.

Baharateeyudu 2 is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language vigilante action drama directed by S Shankar, who also helmed the prequel (Bharateeyudu) starring Kamal Hassan in 1996.
It is being produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies.
The film stars Kamal Haasan, who reprises his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption.
